Frank Anthony Dalpiaz, age 81, died June 12, 1996 at his home.

Born September 7, 1914 in Helper, Utah to Carlo and Lucia Novascone Dalpiaz.

He married Eleanor (Nora) Piacitelli on May 28, 1938, at Notre Dame
Catholic Church in Price.

He served in the Navy as a Postal Officer with the rank of Ensign in
World War II and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 42 years,
retiring as Postmaster in 1978 from Helper.

Frank was active in his community throughout his life including Little
League Baseball, volunteer Fire Department, Kiwanis Club, Notre Dame
School Board, and Carbon Country Club as president and director. He
was a member of the Columbian Federation of Italian-American Societies
and president of the Stella D'America Lodge in Helper. As a
parishioner of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, he served on the
Diocesan School Board and was a member of the Knights of Columbus,
Grand Knight in 1962,

In 1995 he was honored by the Utah State Chamber of Commerce with the
Carbon County Total Citizen Award. Starting as a volunteer in the
American Cancer Society in 1978, he served as president of Carbon Unit
and Special Events Chairman and was given the Utah Division Ralph L.
Smart Award for dedicated service to the community. He is well known
for his organization of what has been named the Frank Dalpiaz American
Cancer Society Golf Tournament in his honor. Frank was involved in
many other religious, civic, and fraternal affiliations.

Survived by: wife of 58 years, Nora, Helper; son and spouse, Phillip
and Nancy Dalpiaz, Charleston, South Carolina; daughter and spouse,
Mary T. and Jack Bottino, Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Philip Jr.
and Steven Dalpiaz, Gina, Amy and Julie Bottino. Preceded in death by
parents; twin brother, Fredrick; sister, Emma.

Funeral mass, Saturday, June 15, 1996, 10 a.m., St. Anthony's Catholic
Church in Helper. Vigil service Friday evening at 7 p.m., Mitchell
Chapel. Committal service, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper, Utah.
